Construction Estimator

An established commercial general contractor is expanding its Jacksonville team and is looking for an experienced Construction Estimator with a background in healthcare interiors and tenant improvement construction.

The ideal candidate is someone who understands the details that go into healthcare renovation projects and can confidently take a project from plans and specifications through a complete, competitive estimate.

Responsibilities

• Estimate commercial interior and healthcare renovation projects
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Complete material and labor quantity takeoffs
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
• Analyze and level subcontractor bids
• Develop detailed scopes and bid packages
• Prepare accurate project budgets and final estimates
• Identify potential scope issues and project risks
• Assist with value engineering and cost-control strategies
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and site visits
• Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and project teams
• Assist with project turnover following award

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating
• Healthcare construction experience preferred
• Strong experience with interior build-outs, renovations, or TI projects
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents
• Strong quantity takeoff and cost-estimating skills
• Experience soliciting and evaluating subcontractor proposals
• Knowledge of commercial construction processes and pricing
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
