About this job
Job Description
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
ServiceMaster Restore of Greater Houston is a newly formed ServiceMaster Restore franchise launching operations in August 2026 in Houston. This is a greenfield build, in the 4th largest market in the U.S., within a national brand: well-capitalized, professionally run, and growth-oriented from day one.
The Business Development Manager will build the company’s referral network, own its key relationships, and drive the revenue engine from the ground up. The ideal candidate has established relationships with insurance adjusters, independent agents, property managers, or commercial property accounts — and the drive to convert those relationships into a growing, loyal referral pipeline.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Business Development Manager is responsible for building and maintaining the referral relationships that drive new loss jobs for the company — insurance adjusters, independent agents, property managers, plumbers, HVAC contractors, and commercial property owners across Harris County. Reporting directly to the owner, this is a field-heavy, relationship-first role. You will identify and develop referral partners, manage the sales pipeline, triage inbound referral inquiries, and coordinate seamless handoffs to the operations team.
Required
• Active or prior experience in at least one of the following: a licensed insurance adjuster (independent or staff) or licensed insurance agent, with meaningful direct exposure to property claims processes, terminology, and workflows; or a business development or sales role in restoration, construction, or a closely adjacent industry
• Strong working knowledge of the property claims lifecycle — from FNOL and coverage review through estimate approval and claim closure
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with insurance professionals, adjusters, agents, or commercial property accounts
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present information confidently one-on-one and in small groups • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in the field
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred
• Active book of business with Houston-area adjusters, carriers, independent agents, property managers, or commercial property accounts
• 2+ years of direct experience in restoration, construction, or property damage mitigation
• CRM or sales tracking software experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field
SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE
A successful Business Development Manager builds a referral pipeline that is durable, not just full. They convert relationships with adjusters, agents, and property managers into consistent, repeat-producing loss referrals, manage the pipeline with discipline, and coordinate clean handoffs to the operations team that protect the company’s reputation for responsiveness and quality.
