Position Summary:

The Heavy-Duty Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of trucks and equipment. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a team-first mindset. You’ll be trusted to keep equipment running safely and efficiently while supporting overall shop productivity.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks, trailers and equipment
  • Maintain accurate repair orders and documentation
  • Suggest additional service work when appropriate
  • Meet deadlines set by the Service Manager
  • Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
  • Properly use and maintain company tools and equipment
  • Work closely with technicians, parts, and service teams to keep workflow moving
  • Step in to support and mentor other technicians when needed

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience with:
    • Heavy truck suspension, steering, and brakes
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Electrical diagnostics
    • Welding and fabrication
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Good communication and a team-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on shop environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must have your own tools
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license required; CDL preferred
  • Clean driving record and insurable under company policy
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
