Bilingual Bus Aide

Horizon Staffing Resources is expanding, and we want YOU to join our team of dedicated Bus Aides!

Schools in East Rutherford, NJ are seeking a qualified Bus Aide to support students during transportation to and from school. The Bus Aide will work alongside the bus driver to ensure students have a safe, comfortable, and positive transportation experience. This position may involve supporting students with special needs and assisting with their individual needs throughout the bus ride.

The Schedule:

·          Monday through Friday – NO WEEKENDS!

·          Pick-up times: 7:30am and 1:30pm

·          NO EVENINGS OR NIGHTS!

What You’ll Do:

·          Student Supervision: monitor students throughout transportation to ensure a safe and orderly environment

·          Bus Safety: assist students with safely boarding and exiting the bus and remain attentive to their needs throughout the ride

·          Special Education Support: provide assistance to students with disabilities and other individual needs

·          Behavior Support: help maintain a calm and positive environment by monitoring and appropriately redirecting student behaviors

·          Daily Living Assistance: assist students, as needed, with mobility, personal care, and other daily living activities

·          Communication: communicate with the bus driver and appropriate school staff regarding student needs, behaviors, or concerns

·          Student Care: provide patience, encouragement, and compassionate support to students during transportation

Who You Are:

·          Dedicated: committed to providing a safe, supportive, and positive experience for students

·          Reliable: dependable, punctual, and able to consistently work the assigned Monday–Friday schedule

·          Compassionate: patient and comfortable working with children and students with special needs

·          Experienced: prior experience working with children, students, or individuals with special needs is preferred

·          Bilingual: fluent in English and Spanish

What’s Required:

·          High School Diploma or GED preferred

·          Bilingual in English and Spanish – REQUIRED

·          Prior experience working with children or students is preferred

·          Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a team
