Diagnostic Technologist – Outpatient Job Description
The Diagnostic Technologist – Outpatient is responsible for positioning patients for x-ray imaging procedures, including the chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot, or ankle. This role requires operating X-ray equipment, processing images, and documenting results into the PACS system without the need for direct supervision. The technologist will also be responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of the clinic nurse, which may include:
- Obtaining vital signs
- Placing patients in exam rooms
- Obtaining specimens, including blood draws (if qualified)
- Preparing patients for clinician evaluations
- Assisting clinicians during evaluations
The Diagnostic Technologist will ensure that the work area is well-organized and stocked with necessary supplies and equipment. This position may also involve floating to Main Radiology as needed.
Qualifications- Current full Certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the Department of Health Services, State of California (CRT)
- Current CPR Certification
- California issued Fluoroscopy Permit
- Current ARRT licensure
- Experience with EPIC EMR
- Previous traveler experience is preferred
This position is a 12-hour day shift with an 8 AM start time. Holiday coverage may be required.
ExperienceA minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
Certifications- BLS/BCLS certification required
