Required Experience and Skills

Working toward or completion of an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science, Library Science, or a related field; or 2+ years of relevant work experience

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to organize, manage, and maintain data and information effectively

Experience with database entry and information retrieval

Responsibilities
The Document Management Assistant is a member of a Center of Excellence team that provides document support for Merck Elkton functional areas and site personnel. Key responsibilities include:

Handle paper and electronic documents according to established procedures, including editing, routing, publishing, scanning, reviewing, cataloging, classifying, and storing documents

Execute standard documentation and information practices within Merck-supported Electronic Document Management Systems and physical document repositories

Apply records retention policies, practices, and procedures to the management of site-published documents

Accurately enter data and coordinate and perform various tasks within site document management systems

Prepare and provide documentation-related reports and metrics
-
Manage document pickup and delivery throughout the site
