Location: Adient Manufacturing Facility
Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday-Friday | 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Position Summary

Adient is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, performance, and uptime of our production equipment in a fast-paced Just-In-Time (JIT) automotive manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving a variety of automated production equipment and facility systems to support safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.

This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing technology, including robotics, conveyor systems, electrical controls, pneumatic systems, and automated production equipment while collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment, including motors, conveyors, robots, pneumatic tools, automated machinery, and production systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including three-phase motors, AC/DC drives, motor controls, start/stop circuits, sensors, relays, and associated components.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Perform preventative maintenance (PM) activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Install, modify, and improve machinery and equipment to meet evolving production requirements.
• Respond to production line calls and equipment breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Support production teams by maintaining equipment performance and ensuring manufacturing efficiencies are achieved.
• Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, work orders, PMs, and equipment history within the electronic maintenance management system (eMaintenance).
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and equipment performance.
• Assist with capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvement efforts.
• Maintain all required certifications and operational licenses, including Hilo/Forklift, Scissor Lift, and Articulating Lift qualifications.
• Complete all required safety, technical, and company training programs.
• Exercise the authority and responsibility to stop production when a potential safety or quality concern is identified.
• Partner with Engineering, Production, and Leadership teams to support plant objectives and operational goals.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or production environment.
• Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
• Strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge.
• Experience working with robotics, conveyors, drives, and automated systems.
• Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training, trade school certification, or related maintenance certifications preferred.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to work 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM).
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and plant shutdown periods when business needs require.
• Ability to work any shift on reasonable notice.
• Frequently stand and walk for extended periods throughout an 8+ hour shift.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds safely.
• Ability to bend, push, pull, climb ladders, and navigate stairs as required.
• Ability to safely utilize power tools and maintenance equipment.
• Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment around moving equipment and machinery.
