Job Description
Step into a meaningful role supporting the daily health and well-being of an 8-year-old student through a one-on-one nursing assignment. This 6-week contract opportunity is set to begin on September 23, 2026, with coverage anticipated until October 30, 2026 (with possible extension of a week). You’ll work closely with a nonverbal and non-ambulatory child diagnosed with cerebral palsy and a history of focal seizures that are infrequent but require quick, attentive care. This position, located in Hudson County and convenient to West New York, NJ, is ideal for a compassionate RN or LPN who enjoys making a tangible difference in a child’s educational experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid RN or LPN/LVN license in New Jersey
- Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly favored
- Knowledgeable and comfortable managing G-tube feedings and care
- Ability to recognize and respond calmly to seizures and follow individualized care plans
- Strong communication skills and a supportive, patient demeanor
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 nursing care, ensuring the student’s daily health and safety throughout the school day and during bus transport to and from school (approximately 7:40/7:50 am–3 pm)
- Monitor for signs of seizures or other medical needs and respond appropriately
- Administer G-tube feeds and maintain meticulous, accurate documentation
- Collaborate with school staff, participate in health planning, and serve as a consistent point of reassurance for the student
- Transition care smoothly by connecting with the current nurse and learning the student’s routine and needs
Enjoy the satisfaction of supporting a child’s integration into the school environment while earning $45–$50 per hour. If you have a heart for pediatric care and thrive in one-on-one settings, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today to make a direct impact where it’s needed most!
