Job Description
About the Role: Seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician. This position requires experience in maintaining central processing cleanliness, decontaminating and reprocessing surgical instruments, operating sterilizers, and ensuring strict separation of clean/dirty zones. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience inspecting and wrapping trays, conducting biological monitoring, and safely handling biohazard materials in an ambulatory surgery center setting seeing around 35-40 cases per day.

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 4:00PM
Pay: $19-22/hr
Qualifications:
Experience: 1+ years of experience minimum in sterile processing or central service reprocessing
Experience in an operating room environment working alongside surgical teams, scrub techs, PCAs, and business office staff
Knowledge of infection control, clean/dirty separation, and biohazard transport protocols
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Sterile Processing Certification CBSPD/IAHCSMM preferred).
Technical Skills: Proficiency operating washers, sterilizers, biological/chemical monitoring logs, and instrument tracking systems.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturer instructions, solution mixing, instrument inspection, lubrication, and wrapping per policy.
Key Responsibilities:Keep central processing clean, maintain strict separation of clean and dirty zones, and safely transport items in labeled biohazard containers.
Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and mix solutions according to manufacturer instructions and industry standards.
Inspect instruments for damage under magnification, lubricate as needed, verify working condition, and arrange and wrap trays per policy.
Operate sterilizers and washers, conduct biological and chemical monitoring, log results, and handle cycle or indicator failures appropriately.
Label sterilized items, check package integrity and expiration dates, maintain tray inventories, and track loaned or returned instruments.
Support facility operations across 3 operating rooms seeing approximately 35-40 cases per day alongside nursing and surgical support staff.
