Outside Plant (OSP) Technician

• Installed, maintained, repaired, and troubleshot underground and aerial telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic and copper cable networks.
• Supported outside plant construction projects by performing cable placement, testing, utility locating, conduit installation, and network restoration activities.
• Interpreted construction blueprints, engineering drawings, and utility maps to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
• Operated hand tools, power tools, and specialized construction equipment for cable installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Assisted with trenching, directional boring, and conduit placement while adhering to safety and quality standards.
• Conducted inspections and preventive maintenance to identify network issues and minimize service disruptions.
• Performed emergency repairs and outage response to maintain network reliability and customer connectivity.
• Documented completed work, material usage, and field observations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Coordinated with project managers, utility companies, construction teams, and customers to ensure successful project completion.
• Maintained strict compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices.

This is a Contract position based out of Ames, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
