Rack and Stack Technician

12 Month Contract

Required Skills & Experience

- Physical Demands: Heavy lifting (frequently up to 49 pounds or more), as well as standing and walking for long shifts.

- Skills: Basic knowledge of data center hardware, structured cabling, and troubleshooting.

- Environment: Work takes place in 24/7 facilities with rotating shifts, day shift so far (estimated hours are 7am-5pm ISH) - 50 hours a week on average.

- OSHA 10 certification

- Ability to pass drug screen and background check.

- Willingness to travel and be away from home for up to 3 weeks at a time. (Generally 2 weeks, but potentially 3 weeks if required)

Job Description

- Racking and Mounting: Physically lift, position, and secure servers, network routers, firewalls, and power distribution units (PDUs) into racks.

- Cabling and Routing: Run, connect, and dress copper and fiber-optic cables following strict cable management standards to protect airflow.

- Labeling and Documentation: Label all ports, cables, and hardware accurately while updating asset inventory and tracking tickets.

- Initial Testing: Power on devices and perform basic hardware diagnostics to verify network and power connectivity.

- Decommissioning: Safely remove, swap, or upgrade older hardware components.
