Outpatient Coder

We are seeking an experienced Outpatient Coder to review medical records and assign accurate, complete, and billable codes for outpatient and physician services.

Responsibilities

• Review and abstract outpatient and physician medical records.
• Assign accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes.
• Capture physician/clinician services, including Medical Decision Making (MDM).
• Ensure coding complies with current guidelines and reimbursement requirements.
• Review documentation and identify coding opportunities or discrepancies.
• Submit coding queries when additional documentation is needed.
• Review coding-related denials and assist with resolution.
• Maintain productivity, quality, accuracy, and confidentiality standards.
• Use 3M 360 or similar computer-assisted coding/encoder systems.
• Stay current with outpatient coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of outpatient/professional coding experience.
• Experience coding physician/clinician services in one or more of the following:
• • Physician offices
  • Multidisciplinary medical practices
  • Emergency Department
  • Ambulatory Surgery Centers
  • Orthopedics
  • Interventional Radiology
  • Hospitalist services
