Research Infusion Nurse
Location: Portland, OR
Schedule: Part-Time | Approximately 20 hours per week
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Contract Length: 3 months, through the end of the year
Start Date: On or before October 1, 2026
Pay: $30 - $55/hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Infusion Nurse to support an Alzheimer's clinical research site in Portland, Oregon. This individual will play a key role in the administration and monitoring of investigational infusions for participants enrolled in Alzheimer's clinical trials.
This is a part-time, contract opportunity covering a maternity leave and is ideal for a clinical professional with strong infusion experience who enjoys providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a research setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient intake procedures, including obtaining and documenting vital signs.
- Communicate with the physician and clinical team to confirm clearance for study treatment.
- Prepare and administer study medication infusions.
- Monitor and manage patients throughout the approximately one-hour infusion period.
- Provide approximately 30 minutes of post-infusion monitoring and observe patients for potential side effects or adverse reactions.
- Document patient care and treatment activities in accordance with study protocols and site procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the onsite research and medical team to ensure participant safety and protocol compliance.
- Utilize available support from onsite laboratory staff and physicians for IV or line-start assistance when needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
- Previous experience administering infusions and obtaining vital signs is required.
- Must hold an active license or credential that permits the administration of infusions.
- BSN or nursing background preferred, though qualified medical assistants or other licensed clinical professionals with appropriate infusion experience may be considered.
- Experience working with elderly patients is preferred.
- Previous experience with antibody therapies or infusions is a plus.
- Strong patient care, communication, and clinical assessment skills.
