Instructional Assistant - Bear, Delaware

Make a meaningful impact in a supportive school environment by bringing your skills as a Paraprofessional to help students thrive. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work one-on-one with two dedicated 6th grade Special Education students who benefit from additional adult support alongside their current paras—all within a collaborative classroom setting. You’ll be onsite during regular school hours, Monday through Friday, with time for a 30-minute lunch each day.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• A valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit (pending permits must be documented via DEEDS screenshot at time of application)
• Experience or interest working in schools, especially with students requiring extra assistance
• Willingness to complete required $85 CBC fingerprinting prior to start
• Commitment to a contract running ASAP through June 8, 2027

Your key responsibilities:

• Partner with existing paraprofessional staff to support and encourage student participation and learning
• Assist in daily classroom routines and activities
• Foster an inclusive and positive environment for all students
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• Help implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as directed

This role is ideal for individuals dedicated to supporting students and who appreciate building meaningful relationships in a school setting. Please note that while Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are welcome to apply, the role will be classified as paraprofessional, and BCBA supervision should be arranged outside of school hours if relevant.
