Job Title: Associate Patient Care Coordinator (APCC)
Location: Rockville Centre, NY
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Hours: Between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM

Position Overview
Optum is seeking an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to support front desk and patient service operations in a busy healthcare setting. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting patients with check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and ensuring accurate patient information is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner
• Answer incoming phone calls and provide front desk support
• Check patients in and out for appointments
• Verify insurance eligibility and coverage
• Collect copays and required patient payments
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
• Collect and update patient demographic information
• Maintain accurate information within the EMR system
• Follow all front desk policies and procedures
• Provide a positive patient experience while supporting daily office operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Previous EMR experience required
• Healthcare, medical office, front desk, or patient services experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
