Position Overview:
\n The CRNA at OrthoArkansas plays a vital role in patient safety and surgical success by independently administering anesthesia and monitoring patient response during procedures. This advanced practice provider collaborates closely with surgeons and healthcare teams, ensuring seamless, patient-centered care from pre-operative evaluation through post-anesthesia recovery. The CRNA also contributes to protocol improvements and continuing education to stay aligned with current standards in anesthesia care.
Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Anesthesia Assessment:
\nConduct comprehensive assessments of patients prior to surgery, reviewing medical history, allergies, and risk factors.
\nIdentify necessary precautions or adjustments to anesthesia plans.
\nAnesthesia Administration:
\nDeliver general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC) using evidence-based practices.
\nAdminister adjuvant drugs, analgesics, and sedatives tailored to procedure and patient needs.
\nIntraoperative Clinical Management:
\nOversee airway management and mechanical ventilation.
\nMonitor patient vitals and anesthesia depth using invasive and noninvasive methods.
\nManage cardiopulmonary resuscitation, oxygen therapy, and fluid/electrolyte balance as needed.
\nProcedural Support:
\nInsert and maintain peripheral IVs and arterial catheters.
\nAssist in managing blood loss, transfusion needs, and acid-base imbalances.
\nPost-Anesthesia Care:
\nMonitor patients during emergence from anesthesia and manage acute or chronic pain.
\nEnsure safe recovery and appropriate discharge instructions.
\nContinuing Education & Best Practices:
\nMaintain required certifications and licensure.
\nStay informed on emerging anesthesia techniques, equipment, and regulatory standards.
\nAdditional Responsibilities:
\nPerform other related duties as assigned to support patient safety and surgical operations.
\nQualifications:

Education & Experience:
\nGraduate degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program.
\nMinimum of 5 years of anesthesia-related experience or equivalent training.
\nCertifications & Licenses:
\nActive RN licensure in the state of Arkansas.
\nCurrent CRNA certification or recertification through the NBCRNA.
\nSkills & Attributes:
\nStrong clinical judgment and rapid decision-making under pressure.
\nEffective communication and collaboration skills with patients, surgeons, and staff.
\nHigh level of professionalism, attention to detail, and patient-focused care.
\nSoftware Skills:
