YOU WILL BE WORKING IN A COLD ENVIRONMENT-THIS COMPANY IS A MEAT WHOLESALER. THE HOURS ARE MONDAY-FRIDAY FROM 6AM TO 230PM

Position Summary

Quality Control Assistantto support the Quality Assurance team in maintaining high standards of food safety, product quality, sanitation, and regulatory compliance throughout the production process.

The Quality Control Assistant will perform routine quality checks, monitor production processes, document inspection results, and help ensure products are handled, processed, stored, and packaged according to company procedures and food safety standards. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and interested in building a career in food manufacturing and quality control.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine quality inspections of raw materials, work-in-process products, and finished products.
  • Monitor production areas to ensure employees are following established food safety and quality procedures.
  • Check product temperatures and verify that proper temperature requirements are maintained.
  • Inspect products for appearance, quality, packaging, labeling, weight, and overall compliance with specifications.
  • Assist with monitoring HACCP and other food safety procedures.
  • Complete quality control forms, inspection reports, temperature logs, and other required documentation accurately.
  • Identify and report quality or food safety issues to the Quality Assurance Supervisor or Manager.
  • Assist with investigations of product quality concerns and help document corrective actions.
  • Monitor sanitation and hygiene practices throughout production areas.
  • Verify that equipment, work areas, and production surfaces are maintained in accordance with sanitation requirements.
  • Assist with product sampling and testing as directed by the QA/QC team.
  • Help maintain accurate records for inspections, testing, production, and quality-related activities.
  • Assist during internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits as needed.
  • Follow all company safety policies, GMPs, HACCP procedures, and applicable food safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
  • Perform other quality control duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience inQuality Control, Quality Assurance, Food Manufacturing, Food Processing, or a related environmentpreferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety practices is a plus.
  • HACCP, GMP, or food safety experience is highly preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies or quality issues.
  • Ability to accurately complete paperwork and maintain production records.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and instructions.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be comfortable working in a food production/processing environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the production facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated or temperature-controlled production areas when required.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in afood processing and production environmentand may require exposure to refrigerated or temperature-controlled areas. The Quality Control Assistant must be comfortable wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following strict sanitation, hygiene, and food safety procedures.
