Job Description
Day-in-the-life: Dimensional Metrology Inspector

Picture your day starting at a spotless inspection cell. You verify your gages are calibrated, review the traveler and blueprint, then run a first article on a newly machined part. Micrometers and height gages confirm key features, and a CMM program validates critical dimensions and GD&T callouts. You capture results, flag any nonconformances, and huddle with the machinist and engineer to close the loop. As production continues, you perform in-process checks, complete final inspections, and keep our ISO 9001 quality system humming with accurate records and periodic audits.

What you’ll tackle
  • First article, in-process, and final inspections on precision-manufactured components
  • Use of calipers, micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, and related inspection tools
  • Operation of CMM equipment to verify dimensions, features, and specifications
  • Interpretation of blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and welding symbols
  • Gage calibration activities and upkeep of inspection equipment
  • Support for ISO quality audits and adherence to the quality management system
  • Documentation of inspection results, nonconforming material, and quality reports
  • Participation in root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Close collaboration with production and engineering to resolve quality issues
What you bring
  • 1+ year of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on skill with precision measuring instruments
  • Fluency in reading blueprints and applying GD&T
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 systems
  • Experience running CMMs (Mitutoyo, CMM-Manager, or similar a plus)
  • Familiarity with welding symbols and basic weld inspection
  • Sharp attention to detail and a practical problem-solving mindset
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Why you’ll appreciate this role
  • Stable full-time position in a clean, organized manufacturing environment
  • Access to advanced inspection and metrology equipment
  • Team culture centered on quality and continuous improvement
  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience
