Position Summary:

This is a customer service oriented position within a mission-driven fundraising store that has a history of low staff turnover. The ideal candidate will show a high capacity for empathy towards customer needs combined with the ability to politely adhere to strict fairness & safety policies. Clean, price, stock, and sell ReStore merchandise; such as furniture, appliances, paint supplies, plumbing & electrical products, lighting, and other home improvement products. Loads and unloads truck, helps process and stock merchandise, and participates in other operational activities as needed. Ability to operate a cash register is a must.

Tasks:

  • Uphold and enforce all fairness, safety, and other operational policies.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, and security practices.
  • Greet customers and determine how to best serve each customer’s needs.
  • Politely interact and answer customer questions regarding the store, merchandise, sales policies, and other areas of customer interest.
  • Clean and organize donated product in preparation for pricing and placement on sales floor.
  • Maintain high standards of merchandising and organization.
  • Price, stock, arrange, display and sell ReStore merchandise.
  • Assist customers in loading purchased items.
  • Maintain knowledge of Hometown Habitat for Humanity’s affordable shelter ministry and program achievements.
  • Complete other related sales tasks as assigned.
