Welder – Building Quality, One Weld at a Time
Are you a skilled welder who takes pride in quality craftsmanship? Ben’s Structural Fabrication is hiring Structural Welders and Miscellaneous Welders to join our fabrication team.
Whether your experience is in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or both, you’ll have the opportunity to put your skills to work fabricating steel components for commercial construction projects. What You’ll Do
As a Welder at Ben’s Structural Fabrication, you’ll work in structural fabrication, miscellaneous fabrication, or both, depending on your experience, skills, and production needs.
Fabrication & Welding
- Review and interpret shop drawings to determine weld type, size, placement, dimensions, and fabrication requirements.
- Fabricate and weld structural and/or miscellaneous steel components according to specifications and drawings.
- Fit and assemble steel components accurately to required dimensions.
- Set up, adjust, and operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform GMAW-pulse (MIG) welding in flat and horizontal positions on various steel components.
- Prepare and finish material as required, including sanding, grinding, wire brushing, and degreasing.
- Verify fit-up, dimensions, and completed work before material moves to the next stage of production.
Quality & Safety
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies at all times.
- Inspect your work to ensure quality conformance using measuring devices, drawings, and visual checks.
- Identify and address quality concerns before work moves forward in the fabrication process.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Productivity & Teamwork
- Complete required production, quality, and time documentation accurately and on time.
- Work efficiently to support production schedules and established quality standards.
- Coordinate with other team members to keep material and work moving through the shop.
- Frequently lift and handle materials weighing approximately 50–100 pounds.
- Support overall shop productivity through teamwork, accountability, and adherence to established standards.
Additional Support (Non-Essential)
- Provide backup support across structural and miscellaneous fabrication areas as needed.
- Assist with general shop housekeeping and organization.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Schedule
This is a full-time, hourly position.
Work is typically performed Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am – 4:15 pm, with mandatory overtime on Fridays, 6:00 am – 3:00 pm, if needed.

Pay Transparency Statement
In accordance with pay transparency guidelines, the anticipated pay range for this position is $22.00 to $29.00 per hour. This range is an estimate and not a guarantee. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and role requirements. Eligible employees may also participate in company benefit programs, subject to plan terms and employment status.

Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- MIG welding experience on steel surfaces or relevant welding education/training.
- Ability to safely set up and operate welding equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, or the demonstrated ability and willingness to learn, including dimensions, weld symbols, and specifications.
- Ability to accurately use basic measuring tools.
- Strong attention to quality, safety, and detail.
- Dependability and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment.
Preferred:
- 1–2+ years of MIG welding or steel fabrication experience.
- Completion of a welding curriculum from an accredited technical college.
- Previous structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals fabrication experience.
- Experience with GMAW-pulse welding.
- Ability to pass a horizontal (2G) weld qualification test.
- Experience welding in the vertical up (3G) position.
