This is a full-time position, based in our Stephenson location. Duties include:
- Answering incoming calls
- Scheduling, canceling and rescheduling appointments
- Schedule maintenance, review
- Fill schedules
- Check voice mails during the day
- Process incoming referrals during the day
- Respond to referral inquiries
- Maintain faxes
- Check insurance eligibility
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Minimal qualifications
- High school diploma
- Willingness to learn and grow with organization
- Ability to multitask in a high volume practice
- Positive attitude
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One year of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a health care environment.

Skills:
- Ability to utilize computerized software system with strong keyboarding skills and speed.
- Ability to use multi-line phone system, including transferring calls and paging.
- Adequate hearing to answer phone and speak with patients.
- Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard by callers and patients.
- Applicants must have a working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and understand the importance of maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
Abilities:
- Elicits appropriate information to route calls to the appropriate person.
- Prevents, calms, or defuses irate callers and patients by working with them to identify concerns and properly directs calls.
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 85 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
