PATIENT ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE – TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Seeking an experienced Patient Access Representative to support patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front-end hospital operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Register patients and accurately enter demographic and insurance information.
- Schedule laboratory, radiology, surgical, and other services.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Obtain authorizations for services when required.
- Complete outpatient, inpatient, surgical, and Emergency Department registrations.
- Explain and obtain required patient forms and consents.
- Answer and return patient calls with excellent customer service.
- Coordinate with patients, physician offices, and hospital departments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
- Utilize hospital and insurance electronic systems.
- Support multiple Patient Access areas, including the Emergency Department.
- Maintain accurate documentation and assist with team operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2–3 years of current, relevant medical-setting experience.
- Previous scheduling and/or patient registration experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Paragon EMR experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High School Diploma or GED.
