Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath IR Rad Tech for a Level II Trauma Center's Interventional Platform, requiring 2+ years of Cath Lab experience and ARRT certification.
Details
- Interventional Platform with 2 Cath Labs, 1 EP Room, and 1 Hybrid Room
- Daily average caseload of 10-12 cases
- Adult inpatient and outpatient population, intra-procedural care only (no pre/post care)
- Cath Lab procedures include diagnostic and interventional heart caths, right heart cath, Impella, balloon pump, thrombectomies (Inari and Penumbra), high risk procedures, STEMI/MI, some CTOs, and PFO closure
- EP procedures include temporary and permanent pacemakers, tilt table tests, ablations, and MitraClip
- Hybrid room procedures include AAA repair, Watchman, TAVR, and carotids
- EMR is Epic; IV pumps are Alaris; medication dispensing via Pyxis; hemodynamics via Merge; PACS by GE
- Additional equipment includes GE Cardio (EP), Siemens and Philips rooms, Inari, and Penumbra
- 8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- May float to IR to assist if trained and comfortable
- On-call required with 10-11 call shifts per month, including 2 weekends per month (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
- Weekday call hours are 1530-0700; weekend call is 1530 Friday to 0700 Monday
- 30-minute response time required for call; three-person call team includes 1 nurse, 1 tech, and 1 nurse or tech
- No sleep rooms provided for call shifts
- 1-2 holidays of call coverage expected per contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
- IEMA (IL license) required if applicable, along with ARRT, BLS, and ACLS certification
- Skilled in scrubbing and panning simultaneously, Impella, balloon pump, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Hybrid and EP experience preferred but not required
- Epic EMR experience
- Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration
- Candidate date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Facility is a 255-bed Level II Trauma Center, Level 2E Special Care Nursery, Magnet-designated, and Primary Stroke Center
- Charge Nurse support available, occasionally taking patient assignments or covering breaks
- 24/7 RT and Hospitalist support; Cardiologist available during the day and on call at night
- RRT/Code Team responds to codes in the lab
- Transportation available for IR patients only, not Cath Lab
- Orientation includes NEO and 2-3 8-hour shifts of unit orientation
- Procedural scrubs provided
- Free parking available
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Former Advocate Health employees or subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for travel assignments
- No radius restrictions; local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Time off requests must be approved through the manager
