Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a teaching hospital setting requiring 1+ year of CT experience and ARRT (R)(CT) certification, with first-time travelers welcome.
Details
- 89-bed teaching facility with 1 CT room and 1 PET CT room used as a backup CT machine
- 3 x-ray rooms including 2 general rooms and 1 fluoroscopy/pain clinic room
- Average of 25-30 patients per day
- CT patients include ED, outpatient, and inpatient cases across adult, geriatric, and some pediatric populations
- Outpatient CT cases include oncology, general abdominal pain, post-surgical, and trauma
- X-ray patients include outpatient, ED, ICU, MedSurg, and OR cases across adult, geriatric, and some pediatric populations
- X-ray duties include fluoroscopy, OR C-arm procedures, orthopedic and ortho trauma imaging, and vascular studies
- EMR is Cerner and PACS is Enterprise Imaging AGFA
- CT equipment includes Siemens X.Cite and GE 16-slice PET CT
- X-ray equipment includes Siemens, T-Rad, Canon Ultimax Hybrid C-arm, Philips and OEC C-arms, and various portable units
- 36 hours per week on a variable schedule, typically Monday-Friday with occasional weekend coverage
- Will float between CT and X-ray, and may float to the OR to perform portables at bedside
- No on-call requirements
- Schedule is built in 6-week increments by the manager
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of CT experience required
- BLS and ARRT (R)(CT) certification required
- Compact or Maine state license required if applicable
- Experience with CTA studies and general CT/X-ray studies required
- IV start skills and biopsy experience highly preferred
- OR/C-arm and fluoroscopy experience highly preferred, but training is available for candidates comfortable learning these skills
- Prior experience with Siemens and GE equipment preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Support includes a lead tech and internal transport staff
- Staffing includes 2 CT techs on weekdays and evenings and 1 on weekends
- Radiologist is on site 3 days a week and available remotely by phone the other 2 days until approximately 4:30-5:00 PM, then transitions to remote reading service
- Biopsy and cardiac CTA experience not required as training is provided
- Orientation includes NEO and 1-1.5 weeks of unit orientation based on comfort level
- Holiday coverage is done in rotation with other techs, typically covering 50-75% of holidays during the contract
- Weekend rotation requirements vary based on the specific need
- RTO requests are approved through the manager
- Scrubs may be any solid color or hospital-issued
- Free parking is available on site
- First-time travelers will be considered
