Custodian/Janitor

We are seeking a dependable Custodian to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the college campus. This is a hands-on position involving routine cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, stairways, and other campus areas. The Custodian will also be required to report to campus during inclement weather to assist with snow removal and cleanup.

Training Schedule:
Saturday through Wednesday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Regular Schedule After Training:
Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Candidates must be able to accommodate both schedules!

Essential Functions:

Disinfect classroom chairs, desks, whiteboards, and other classroom furniture to help maintain a healthy learning environment
Clean and sanitize restrooms in accordance with established practices and procedures
Sweep, mop, and/or vacuum hallways
Empty and clean ashtrays and cigarette receptacles
Clean windows
Sweep and mop stairways
Wipe down walls and other surfaces as needed
During inclement weather, report to campus to clear walkways of snow and assist with cleanup during snowstorms

Requirements
Previous custodial, janitorial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred
Ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs and perform physical cleaning duties
Ability to climb a ladder
Dependable and able to work the required schedule
Must be able to report during inclement weather as needed
