Medical Assistant - Primary Care (Adults & Pediatrics)

Ross Bridge Medical Center is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Medical Assistant to join our growing physician-led outpatient practice in Hoover, Alabama.

This position is ideal for a Medical Assistant who enjoys working directly with physicians and nurse practitioners, caring for both adult and pediatric patients, and taking ownership of patient needs from check-in through follow-up.

Key responsibilities and qualifications:

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, medication histories, and appropriate clinical information
• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures
• Administer injections, vaccines, and medications within training and scope
• Perform or assist with diagnostic testing and other clinical procedures as trained
• Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record
• Handle patient telephone calls and electronic messages professionally and promptly
• Communicate provider instructions and ensure appropriate patient follow-up
• Assist with prescriptions, medication refills, prior authorizations, referrals, laboratory results, and medical records
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain clinical supplies and inventory
• Work closely with providers, front-office staff, and other members of the clinical team
• Take ownership of patient concerns and escalate unresolved issues appropriately
• Previous Medical Assistant experience in a physician office or outpatient clinic is preferred
• Experience in primary care, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics is a plus
• CMA, CCMA, or similar Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required if the candidate has strong clinical experience
• BLS certification is preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records is preferred
• Must be reliable, punctual, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
