Pediatric Dental Assistant

At First Flight Pediatric Dentistry, we believe a child’s early dental experiences will shape how they feel about dentistry for the rest of their life. We are looking for team members that share that mindset and want to make a difference in the lives of our patients.

We are looking for a dental assistant who brings warmth, energy, and and attention to detail to every situation. Clinical skills are important, but we are especially interested in someone who understands that working with children requires creativity, flexibility, and the ability to connect with children.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Assisting: Provide chair-side assistance during pediatric dental procedures, including composite fillings, stainless steel and zirconia crowns, space maintainers, and cleanings.
• Patient Communication & Comfort: Greet patients and families with enthusiasm and professionalism; explain procedures using positive, age-appropriate, and non-threatening language ("tell-show-do").
• Patient Education: Educate children and parents on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care tailored to pediatric needs.
• Sterilization & Operations: Execute strict sterilization and infection control protocols, prepare procedure rooms, and maintain equipment.
• Patient Flow & Administrative Support: Take dental X-rays, manage appointment scheduling, update patient records, and collaborate with the team to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assisting license (preferred).
• Radiation safety/dental radiography certification (preferred).
• CPR/BLS certification (preferred).
• Sealant certification (preferred).
• Prior experience working with pediatric patients (preferred).
