Job Description
The Diallo Group (TDG) is seeking an experienced AICP-Certified Planner to join our federal planning practice in Alexandria, Virginia. This position will support planning and programming projects for federal and Department of Defense clients throughout the United States and overseas.

TDG’s planning practice includes installation planning, Area Development Plans (ADPs), Installation Development Plans (IDPs), facility programming, Basic Facility Requirements (BFRs), DD Form 1391 development, real property and infrastructure planning, transportation planning, and multidisciplinary planning studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support federal installation and master planning assignments.
• Facilitate and participate in planning charrettes, stakeholder meetings, interviews, and site visits.
• Develop ADPs, IDPs, planning studies, facility requirements, alternatives analyses, and implementation strategies.
• Support development and validation of DD Form 1391 programming documents and BFRs.
• Analyze land use, facilities, infrastructure, mission requirements, development constraints, and future growth.
• Coordinate with GIS specialists, architects, engineers, landscape architects, cost estimators, and client stakeholders.
• Prepare planning reports, presentations, briefing materials, and technical documentation.
• Support federal proposal development, scopes of work, schedules, and technical approaches.
• Assist with quality control and mentoring of junior planning staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Planning, Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Architecture, Geography, or a related field.
Current AICP certification required.
5+ years of professional planning experience; federal/DoD planning experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with military installation planning, master planning, or federal facility planning highly desirable.
• Familiarity with UFC planning criteria and DoD planning processes preferred.
• Experience with DD Form 1391s, BFRs, ADPs, IDPs, or similar federal planning products is a plus.
• Strong facilitation, writing, presentation, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to travel periodically for charrettes and site visits.

Location: Alexandria, Virginia — In Office
Employment: Part-Time / Project-Based, with potential for increased hours based on workload
