Job Description
We are looking for a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. We are a busy primary care medical office dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized care to our patients.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, professional, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining a positive attitude and excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medication lists, medical history, and other necessary information
- Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient care and examinations
- Accurately document patient information and clinical services in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Assist with in-office procedures and treatments as needed
- Perform or assist with injections, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and other clinical duties within scope of practice
- Process patient messages, telephone calls, refill requests, and provider tasks in a timely manner
- Coordinate referrals, obtain medical records, and assist with follow-up needs
- Communicate effectively with providers, patients, pharmacies, specialists, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked exam rooms
- Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and office policies and procedures
- Provide professional, courteous, and compassionate patient service
- Assist with other clinical and administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Previous medical office or primary care experience preferred
- EMR experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
- Ability to work independently while also being a supportive member of the clinical team
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
