Construction Laborer - Fiber Drop Bury Technician

The role focuses on telecommunications connectivity. Technicians will run low-voltage cables underground, place conduit, and restore the job site (customers yards) so customers get reliable internet and TV services with minimal property disruption. You'll be trenching/splitting the ground front the tap to the house box the required depth and burying the Cable.

Our drop burys technicians typically complete between 5-8 drop burys each day and average between $1,500-$2,400 a week in billing.

Key Responsibilities

• Cable Installation: Run fiber optic or coaxial drop lines from terminal poles or pedestals to the customer's premises.
• Trenching & Digging: Dig shallow trenches (typically 6 to 12 inches deep) using hand tools, trenchers, or vibratory plows.
• Utility Locating: Identify and avoid existing underground utility lines by reading locate markings on the ground and following safety regulations.
• Site Restoration: Repair and restore the landscape—replacing soil, sod, and turf - to its original condition after burying the line.
• Equipment Operation: Operate, clean, and maintain company vehicles, plows, boring tools, and basic hand tools safely.
• Documentation: Take all required job-site photos, send over job information to your supervisor in real time as you complete drop buries throughout the day.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, walk long distances, kneel next to trenches, and regularly lift 50 to 80 lbs.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record.
• Background Check: Ability to pass standard pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
• Preferred Skills: Prior experience in construction and the fiber industry, including burying Cable is a strong plus.
• Communication: Must have a cellphone that works on a plan and not just when you have access to Wifi and must report all completed Drops in real time through-out the day. This is a requirement.
• Tools: A tool list will be given to you upon being hired and as a 1099 worker and you will be required to have or obtain the proper tools for the job.
