Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst – Supply Chain & Inventory Operations

Location: Mount Olive, NJ (Onsite)

Target Base Salary: $100,000 – $120,000

About the Role The Senior Financial Analyst will serve as a high-impact business partner bridging global supply chain operations, inventory management, and executive finance. This role requires an autonomous, senior-level finance professional who can independently design, track, and manage core inventory KPIs, assess balance sheet exposure, and evaluate the direct financial impacts of supply chain decisions on cash flow and P&L performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Financial Control & Working Capital Management
    • Design, implement, and track critical stock KPI indicators, including Days of Inventory (DOI), inventory turnover rates, dynamic holding costs, and stock process monitoring.
    • Evaluate the financial exposure of inventory levels on the Balance Sheet and P&L, identifying risks related to stock control, excess/obsolete (E&O) inventory, and working capital drain.
    • Partner closely with procurement, global sourcing, and logistics to monitor cost of goods sold (COGS) variances, purchase order variances, landed costs, and freight expenses.
    • Establish rigor around stock reconciliation and inventory valuation workflows to protect company financial resources.
  • Commercial & Operational Finance
    • Analyze gross margins, product profitability, and customer channel performance to optimize bottom-line growth.
    • Partner with commercial and operational leadership to model pricing, vendor rebates, dynamic logistics shifts, and volume strategies.
    • Build flexible, dynamic financial models in Excel to simulate operational scenarios and risk assessments.
  • Strategic KPI Reporting & Leadership Interaction
    • Drive operational reporting with minimal supervision, translating complex inventory metrics into actionable executive summary packages.
    • Collaborate across IT, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure data integrity within ERP systems without relying solely on IT/BI technical execution.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 6–9 years of progressive FP&A or Supply Chain/Operations Finance experience, with demonstrated expertise in inventory accounting, P&L/Balance Sheet impact analysis, and global supply chain operations.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling capabilities (scenario modeling, dynamic arrays); strong command of ERP inventory modules (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite); experience with BI reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Core Competencies: Deep understanding of inventory metrics (DOI, turnover, stock monitoring); ability to operate autonomously with minimal supervision; strong financial acumen regarding working capital and financial risk management.
