Reports to: Transportation Supervisor
Position Summary:
The Hybrid Driver / Warehouse Associate is a full-time role within the Transportation team primarily responsible for providing delivery route coverage for Truck Driver absences. This position is cross-trained on all delivery routes and shuttle operations and must be available to step into a driving role on short notice.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities - Driving/Transportation (Primary Responsibility):
  • Provide coverage for delivery routes and shuttle operations as needed, including short-notice assignments.
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Learn and maintain proficiency on all delivery routes and schedules.
  • Deliver orders to customers accurately and on time using efficient routes.
  • Maintain required logs and documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any issues.
  • Load, unload, and secure cargo for safe transport.
  • Maintain communication with leadership regarding route status, delays, or issues.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers.
Responsibilities - Warehouse Operations (Secondary Responsibility):
  • Perform material handling functions including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping, as assigned.
  • Assist with inventory control tasks such as cycle counts and stock organization.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) as trained.
  • Support general warehouse needs based on daily operational priorities.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Promote and maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with procedures, policies, training, and regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement project team activities.
General Responsibilities:
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, and tire chains.
  • Partake in overall housekeeping including cleaning, organizing, dusting, sweeping, etc.
  • Keep the interior of the truck clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule Expectations
  • Full-time position with variable daily responsibilities.
  • Must be available for early start times and extended shifts when covering routes.
  • Schedule may change based on driver coverage needs, including occasional short-notice assignments.
  • Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
  • Clean driving record, required.
  • High School diploma or GED, required.
  • 2-3 years of truck driving experience, required.
  • Knowledge of geographical area or ability to learn, required.
  • Commercial license according to government requirements (Chauffeur's license at minimum), required.
  • Must pass a medical examination as per Department of Transportation or other requirements, required.
  • Must be available to work more than 8 hours per day as per the requirements of the delivery run or as warranted by business needs, required.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week for extended time periods, required.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Accurate in the delivery and shipment of orders to customers.
  • Capable of performing and completing the workload assigned.
  • Dependable and self-motivated.
  • Overall reliability, including attendance and punctuality is essential.
  • Proper attire, grooming.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with leadership, managers, leads, customers, and peers.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other job-related equipment and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Willing to participate in Company designated training.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision/guidance.
  • Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the company handbook.
  • Must be able to practice safe work habits.
Physical Demands:
This is a Truck Driver and General Warehouse position that requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and use of hands continuously for eight hours. This position requires lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally with assistance lifting/moving up to 100 pounds. This position requires extended amounts of time walking and climbing stairs. This position requires frequent work time beyond an eight-hour shift/40-hour week including shift rotation and weekends. This position requires the operation of basic office equipment.
