Description

American Traveler is hiring a Speech and Language Pathologist for a Long Term Care position requiring TX licensure and CCC certification.

Details

  • Long term care facility setting within a 75-bed community care center
  • Speech Language Pathology unit
  • Day shift, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
  • Flexible start time between before 6AM and no later than 10AM, as long as consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehab
  • No weekend requirements
  • No on-call requirements
  • Compact license accepted

Requirements

  • Active TX State RN license or compact license required
  • Active ASHA CCC-SLP certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required
  • LTC or Rehab setting experience required
  • New grads considered if Level II clinical experience obtained (not solely Level I observation)
  • 3 years of experience holding an active CCC preferred
  • One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders
  • Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans based on standardized assessments and evidence-based practice
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other providers
  • Communicate patient progress and treatment plans with supervisors and care team
  • Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and accurate documentation in the electronic system
  • Participate in required meetings such as care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehab meetings
  • Attend facility and company required trainings and in-services
  • Obtain necessary DME or supplies per clinical and regulatory guidelines
  • Supervise and support CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed
  • Adhere to ASHA and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics standards
  • Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed during the assignment
