Description
American Traveler is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist for a Long Term Care position requiring MO licensure and CCC certification, with LTC or rehab experience preferred.
Details
- Long Term Care facility setting within the Speech Language Pathology unit
- Caseload typically includes 10-14 patients per day depending on evaluation volume
- Standard treatment sessions are approximately 30 minutes per patient
- Group therapy sessions are utilized to support productivity goals
- Each therapist is provided a dedicated device for documentation
- Day shift schedule, 8 hours, Monday through Friday
- Flexible start times between 6AM and 10AM as long as consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehab
- No weekend work required unless a holiday falls Monday through Friday, in which case hours may be made up on the weekend
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active MO state RN license or compact license required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required per facility policy
- Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required
- New graduates accepted if Level II clinical experience was completed (Level I observation alone not sufficient)
- LTC or Rehab setting experience required
- 3 years of experience holding an active CCC preferred
- One professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for screening, evaluating, and treating patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
- Develops and adjusts individualized plans of care based on patient progress and evidence-based practice
- Communicates regularly with supervisors and interdisciplinary care team regarding patient progress and treatment plans
- Provides consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers on speech-related disorders
- Prepares comprehensive discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory and clinical standards
- Documents all treatment services and minutes accurately in the electronic documentation system
- Participates in required facility meetings, trainings, and in-services
- May supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or student SLPs
- Maintains adherence to ASHA and state practice standards and codes of conduct
- No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted during the assignment
