Description
American Traveler is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist for a Long Term Care position requiring CCC certification and MO or compact licensure.
Details
- Long Term Care facility setting within the Speech Language Pathology department
- Treats patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
- Provides group therapy in addition to individual treatment sessions
- Typical caseload of 10-14 patients per day depending on evaluations scheduled
- Standard treatment sessions run approximately 30 minutes
- Days shift, 8 hours, Monday through Friday
- Start time flexible between 6 AM and 10 AM as long as consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehab
- No weekend work required unless a holiday falls Monday through Friday, in which case hours are made up on the weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Each therapist typically has a dedicated device for documentation
Requirements
- Active MO state RN license or compact license required
- CCC certification required
- 1 year of SLP experience required
- New graduates accepted if they completed Level II clinical experience (Level I observation alone not accepted)
- LTC or Rehab setting experience required
- 1 reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders using standardized assessments and evidence-based practice
- Develop and adjust plans of care based on patient progress and treatment outcomes
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
- Communicate patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans with supervisors and healthcare team members
- Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Participate in required meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings
- Attend facility and company required trainings and in-services
- Obtain necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical requirements
- May supervise and support CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists
- Adhere to ASHA and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics standards
- No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested during the assignment
