Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join the accounting team of an established organization in Central San Antonio. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment and brings strong accuracy, organization, and vendor communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process a high volume of invoices accurately and within established payment timelines. (minimum of 150+ weekly invoice processing)
- Review invoice documentation, coding, approvals, and payment terms prior to processing.
- Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies or outstanding items.
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic invoice and payment records.
- Assist with identifying payment discounts and resolving vendor account issues.
- Communicate with internal departments and external vendors regarding invoices, payments, and account questions.
- Support ongoing Accounts Payable reporting, reconciliation, and administrative needs.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of Accounts Payable experience or related accounting experience.
- Experience working with automated accounting or Accounts Payable systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ten-key proficiency and strong data-entry accuracy.
- Experience with ERP or financial management systems preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
