Architect

The Architect supports all technical aspects of design and project production across a wide range of facility and infrastructure projects. This role contributes to the development of high-quality architectural solutions, assists with project scoping and budgeting, and helps ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with established technical standards and procedures. The position offers the opportunity to work on diverse project types, including municipal, K–12, and higher education facilities, within a collaborative and people-focused consulting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all technical aspects of architectural design and project production activities for assigned projects.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of the architecture discipline’s technical policies, standards, and procedures in daily work.
  • Develop technical studies, investigations, and design solutions that respond to project requirements and client needs.
  • Support the project team in defining project scope, including identifying design requirements and deliverables.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets to help ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Contribute to the production of construction documents, drawings, and specifications using Revit and related tools.
  • Help ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest technical and quality standards.
  • Participate in the coordination of architectural design with other disciplines involved in facility and infrastructure projects.
  • Support project management activities, including tracking progress, documentation, and communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts for architectural design services, such as supporting proposals and presentations, as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Architecture.
  • State of Tennessee architecture license or the ability to obtain licensure.
  • Five or more years of applicable experience in architectural discipline design (desired).
  • Experience in architectural design for a variety of project types, including municipal, K–12, and higher education facilities.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, with the ability to produce high-quality design and construction documents.
  • Knowledge of construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to understand and apply technical policies, procedures, and standards within the architecture discipline.
  • Capability to assist with project scoping and budgeting activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering work of the highest technical quality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with project management for architectural projects (desired).
  • Experience supporting marketing and business development activities for architectural design services (desired).
  • Experience in consulting services related to facility and infrastructure design, operation, and management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $51.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
