Summary
Kelly Services is hiring a Temporary Process Improvement Coordinator will support the Russellville Continuous Improvement Team by strengthening the site’s 5S system and supporting operational excellence initiatives across production areas.
The primary focus of this role will be updating 5S maps, validating current floor conditions, improving visual organization, and helping establish sustainable standards. The coordinator will also assist with data analysis, project tracking, standard work, documentation, and other process improvement activities.

The primary focus of this role will be updating 5S maps, validating current floor conditions, improving visual organization, and helping establish sustainable standards. The coordinator will also assist with data analysis, project tracking, standard work, documentation, and other process improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing 5S maps and compare them with actual floor conditions, equipment locations, material flow, and area ownership.
- Partner with Operations, Facilities, and Continuous Improvement team members to identify:
- 5S gaps
- Outdated or inaccurate visual materials
- Unclear area ownership
- Opportunities to improve organization and efficiency
- Update 5S maps, visual controls, standard work, and deployment materials.
- Ensure documentation aligns with continuous improvement and operational excellence standards.
- Conduct production-area validations and document findings, action items, before-and-after conditions, and follow-up requirements.
- Support the reassignment and communication of 5S area ownership.
- Help coordinate recurring 5S audit walks and reviews with area owners.
- Assist with continuous improvement activities, including:
- Daily Direction Setting support
- Data collection and analysis
- Project tracking
- Job aid development
- Standard work updates
- Process improvement initiatives
- Prepare recommended next steps and contribute to a final project report-out.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or a recent graduate in one of the following areas:
- Industrial Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Operations Management
- Supply Chain
- Business
- A related engineering or business discipline
- Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Interest in manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operations.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with AutoCAD or facility-layout software.
- Previous internship, academic project, leadership, or team-based experience.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work is performed on-site in a food manufacturing environment.
- Must follow all applicable food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and workplace safety requirements.
- Ability to walk through production areas and conduct extended floor observations.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, materials, and active production operations.
