Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr Accountant/Supervisor to support financial operations for a Commercial real estate portfolio in Miami, Florida. This role focuses on maintaining accurate records, managing monthly accounting activity, and ensuring property-level reporting is completed on time. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in property accounting, strong knowledge of accrual-based reporting, and confidence working within Yardi.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review monthly financial activity for assigned properties, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Lead the month-end close process by ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and deadlines are consistently met.
• Maintain the general ledger for property entities and resolve discrepancies through careful analysis and follow-up.
• Record accruals and other adjusting entries in accordance with established accounting standards and reporting requirements.
• Use Yardi to manage accounting data, generate reports, and support day-to-day property finance operations.
• Examine contracts, leases, and related documents to confirm billing, expense treatment, and compliance with financial terms.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to address account questions, provide reporting insights, and improve accuracy in property-level financial information.
• Support audit-related requests by organizing documentation and responding to inquiries tied to property accounts and transactions.

• At least 3 years of accounting experience, including direct exposure to property or real estate accounting.
• Practical experience using Yardi for accounting, reporting, and property financial management.
• Strong understanding of month-end close procedures, accrual accounting, and general ledger maintenance.
• Ability to review leases, contracts, and financial support documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses in a deadline-driven environment.
• Solid organizational and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Proficiency in identifying discrepancies, researching issues, and producing accurate financial records.
