FirmView Implementation Accountant

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented accounting specialist to support a venture capital environment in Menlo Park, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who understands the financial structures behind carry, employee compensation, and co-investment programs within VC firms. The role calls for hands-on expertise in fund accounting and the ability to interpret and calculate complex participation arrangements with accuracy.

Responsibilities:
• Analyze and calculate carried interest allocations, ensuring figures are accurate and aligned with venture capital compensation structures.
• Support accounting activities tied to employee compensation and co-investment arrangements within the firm.
• Apply venture capital fund accounting knowledge to review financial data, allocations, and related records.
• Partner with stakeholders to provide accounting insight during the FirmView implementation as it relates to carry, compensation, and co-investment functionality.
• Examine existing financial information and translate it into clear accounting support for system-related processes.
• Validate calculations and supporting documentation for compensation-related and investment participation reporting.• Prior accounting experience within a venture capital firm is required.
• Strong background in fund accounting, preferably in an investment management or VC setting.
• Demonstrated ability to perform and review carried interest calculations accurately.
• Working knowledge of employee compensation and co-investment accounting concepts.
• Familiarity with accounting processes that support technology implementation initiatives.
• Ability to communicate clearly with finance and operational stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
