Position Summary

We are seeking two full-time Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to provide speech and language services to students across the district, serving students from Pre-K through Grade 12.

The SLP will provide comprehensive evaluations, therapy services, consultation, and support while collaborating with educators, families, and related service providers to promote student success.

Virtual/teletherapy candidates will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct speech-language evaluations and interpret assessment results.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs.

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services through individual and small-group sessions.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and multidisciplinary team members.

  • Provide consultation regarding communication strategies and classroom accommodations.

  • Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs).

  • Support students with a variety of communication, language, articulation, fluency, voice, and swallowing needs.

  • Participate in planning, developing, and evaluating programs that support student learning.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Connecticut Teaching Certificate (061) or ability to obtain appropriate certification.

  • Connecticut Speech & Hearing certification and state licensure (or eligibility).

  • Fully qualified SLP; Clinical Fellowship (CFY) candidates are not being considered for these openings.

  • Experience or ability to supervise SLPAs.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Reliable transportation for on-site positions.

  • Ability to pass federal and local background checks.

  • Ability to complete all pre-employment requirements before the start date.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for on-site positions.

  • 2 full-time SLP openings

  • District-wide student caseload, Pre-K through Grade 12

  • SLPA supervision is required

  • Virtual/remote SLPs will be considered

  • No CFY candidates for these openings

  • On-site and virtual therapy options available
