Job Title: Engineering Technician – Lab Operations & Test Equipment
Location: Bridgewater, NJ 08807 (100% Onsite)
Pay Rate: $22.85 – $28.56 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, 1st Shift
Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to support the deployment, maintenance, and logistics of test equipment in an engineering lab environment. In this role, you will ensure equipment is properly installed, fully operational, and readily available to support engineering teams and meet critical project timelines.
Our lab operations are evolving with AI-enabled tools to improve equipment reliability, optimize calibration, and minimize downtime. You will directly enable engineering productivity by maintaining reliable, accessible, and optimized test setups while helping transition operations toward data-driven, predictive performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Deployment & Setup: Install, configure, and set up test equipment, benches, and mechanical assemblies using hand tools or automated test methods.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform preventive maintenance, track calibrations, diagnose equipment issues, and execute root-cause analysis and rework alongside cross-functional teams.
- Logistics & Asset Management: Track purchasing, shipping, receiving, transport, and usage of inventory and equipment across test labs, field engineering, and business unit projects using centralized tracking systems.
- Testing & Support: Execute manual and automated test plans, provide Tier 1 technical support to engineers, reproduce/debug issues, and document test results, KPIs, and malfunction records.
- AI & Modern Lab Tools: Use AI-enabled monitoring tools to track equipment performance, identify trends, support predictive maintenance, and validate data for analytics.
- Lab Readiness & Safety: Maintain clean, safe, and compliant lab environments in accordance with ESD and quality standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree OR
- High School Diploma / GED with 1+ years of experience as an Engineering Technician or in a related technical role.
Top Core Skills:
- Asset Management & Logistics: Proven ability in inventory control, tracking, shipping/receiving, and asset management.
- Technical Support & Service: Customer-oriented mindset providing reliable Tier 1 technical assistance to engineers.
- Test Equipment Knowledge: Basic understanding of common electronic test equipment, test bench setups, and their operational uses.
- Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Hands-on experience diagnosing hardware issues, conducting repairs/rework, and documenting issues.
- Equipment Deployment: Practical experience installing, configuring, and deploying hardware, benches, and testing tools.
