Instructional Assistant - Gridley, California

Support student success as an ASL Paraprofessional in an after-school environment. This contract position, located near Gridley, CA, offers an engaging opportunity to work with students across various sites. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in fostering communication, inclusivity, and learning for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience supporting school-aged children in educational settings is highly valued
• EIPA certification is not required
• Ability to adapt and engage with students at various grade levels
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled hours consistently

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students during after-school activities and academic sessions from 2:30 to 6:00 PM
• Facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers using ASL
• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and reinforcing classroom instruction
• Encourage positive interactions and engagement
• Monitor and ensure student safety and participation during after-school programs
• Travel to multiple sites as needed on assignment
