Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Michigan

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contracted opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing services through telehealth. This role is based in Warren, MI, and supports students with hearing impairments by delivering specialized instruction and communication strategies remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessment, instruction, and monitoring of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing via telehealth platforms
• Develop individualized education plans aligning with student needs and hearing accommodations
• Collaborate with families, educators, and support staff to ensure effective communication and progress
• Utilize assistive technology and remote teaching tools to enhance learning experiences
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and service delivery

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hearing Impaired
• Experience providing telehealth or remote instruction services in educational settings
• Strong knowledge of auditory and visual communication methods
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies for online platforms
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
