Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students as an ASL Paraprofessional in an after-school setting. What We’re Looking For:
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or working with students with communication needs preferred
- EIPA certification not required
- Ability to work afternoons, Monday to Friday (2:30–6:00 PM)
- Comfortable traveling between various locations as needed
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient demeanor
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive educational environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide ASL interpretation and communication support for students during after-school programs
- Assist lead teachers and staff in implementing educational activities
- Support students’ social and academic interactions, promoting engagement and participation
- Collaborate with educators and families to ensure each student’s needs are met
- Adapt communication and instruction methods to match individual student strengths
- Maintain a structured, encouraging atmosphere for all program participants
