Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - General medicine background required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Nephrology or urology background preferred.

Special Requests: - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. - Block scheduling and traveler scheduling needs may be accommodated while still fulfilling unit needs. - Holiday schedule may be negotiated.

Unit Details: - Nurse-patient ratios: 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. - Common patient population includes ESRD, AKI, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients, parathyroidectomies (some with auto-implants), ileal conduit creations, TURPs, prostatectomies, kidney stones, graft/fistula repairs, new post-op and rejection kidney/pancreas transplants, transplant biopsies, and general medicine overflow. - Overhead lift equipment in all rooms. - PCT support on all shifts; techs assist with vital signs, baths, activity, accu-cheks, Foley catheter removal, and CBI tasks except titration. - No vents. BiPAP/CPAP patients are typically sleep-related only; trached and heated high flow patients are rare. Respiratory therapists are available for support and treatments; RNs administer inhalers. - Telemetry is monitored by TeleTechs on another unit. Nurses are not required to read or interpret telemetry and receive pages for rhythm changes or heart-rate specifics. Phillips monitors used.

Shift & Scheduling: - Self-scheduling available; scheduling needs can be coordinated with the supervisor. - Every other weekend for nights; weekends are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Night shift may not need as many weekends currently due to weekend-only nephrology staff positions. - Every other holiday. - No call shifts.

Floating Requirements: - Float to other general medicine units. - May be asked to float as a sitter or to the ED or ICUs as help-all only; these situations are very infrequent, if ever.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
