Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Additional Details:
Special Requests: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you are applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Prefer candidates who have Epic experience and travel experience on a MedSurg floor. If they have experience in a Level I trauma center, will consider without travel experience as long as they have Epic experience.
Unit Details: Nurse: patient ratios: 1:4-5 from 07-2300 and 1:5-6 from 23-0730. Common diagnoses/types of patients: acute care general medicine; cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, syncope, anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, acute respiratory failure, liver failure, kidney failure, behavioral health, and addictions. RNs are not required to titrate drips. Common drips: Heparin, Lasix. Free charge RN on each floor. PCTs assist with vital signs, accucheks, bladder scans, and ADLs; PCT ratio 1:8-10. RT equipment/patient support includes BiPAP/CPAP for sleep apnea, inhaler administration, and suctioning. House-wide telemetry is monitored remotely; RNs can view strips on pack or computer. Phillips monitors.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend: Fri/Sat for nights. Holiday requirement varies. No call.
Floating Requirements: Rotation to other acute care general medicine areas, including nephrology, neuro, ortho, and oncology.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
