Do you enjoy building, wrenching, and making mechanical systems come alive? At BARBCO, you’ll assemble diesel-powered, hydraulic construction and underground boring equipment as an Assembly Technician I.

What you’ll tackle

• Build complete machines and subassemblies for diesel–hydraulic equipment.
• Mount diesel engines; install pumps, hydraulic motors, cylinders, valves, manifolds, reservoirs, and filters.
• Cut, route, and secure hydraulic hoses, fittings, and tubing.
• Install and align bearings, shafts, couplings, sprockets, and chains.
• Read and apply work orders, bills of material, mechanical drawings, and basic hydraulic diagrams.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and measurement tools safely.
• Assist with filling, bleeding, startup, and testing of hydraulic systems; verify routing, securement, and check for leaks.
• Help troubleshoot machines and make necessary adjustments.
• Call out missing or incorrect parts, print discrepancies, and assembly issues.
• Document work accurately and completely.
• Follow BARBCO safety, quality, and production procedures.

Must-haves

• 1+ year (preferred) in mechanical, diesel, hydraulic, automotive, heavy-equipment, industrial maintenance, or similar hands-on work.
• Basic understanding of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
• Starter knowledge of hydraulics—or the willingness to learn hydraulic assembly.
• Safe use of common mechanic/assembly tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurements.
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings, diagrams, or manuals.
• Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting skills.
• Reliable attendance and eagerness to learn.

• Experience with diesel engine installation or repair
• Heavy equipment repair background
• Agricultural or construction equipment experience
• Hydraulic hose and fitting assembly
• Work with hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders
• Industrial equipment assembly exposure
• OEM machinery assembly experience
