Direct Care Staff, Youth Group Home (Evenings, Overnights, Weekends)

Direct Care Staff (Paraprofessional), $15/hr, Gastonia, NC

New Hope Homes is hiring dependable, caring Direct Care Staff to support children and adolescents in our Level III residential treatment group home in Gastonia. If you want work that makes a real difference in a young person's life, we want to meet you.

Shifts Available

• Weekday Evening: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Weekday Peak Support: Monday to Friday, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
• Weekday Overnight (Awake): Monday to Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend Day: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• On-Call: covering call-outs and emergencies

Full-time and part-time positions are available. Overnight staff must remain awake for the entire shift.

What You Will Do

• Supervise and support residents to keep the home safe, structured, and positive
• Carry out each resident's treatment plan under the direction of our Qualified Professional
• Guide residents through daily routines, meals, homework, chores, recreation, and life skills
• Use trauma-informed, de-escalation-first approaches during difficult moments
• Administer medications after completing our medication training
• Complete accurate shift notes, logs, and incident reports
• Transport residents to school, appointments, visits, and community activities
• Protect residents' rights, dignity, and confidentiality

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 21 years of age
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Able to pass a criminal background check, NC Health Care Personnel Registry check, sex offender registry check, and drug screen
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stay alert through your full shift
• Available for evenings, overnights, weekends, or holidays as scheduled

Preferred

• Experience working with children or teens in residential, behavioral health, school, or youth services settings
• Current CPR, First Aid, or crisis intervention certification
• Coursework or a degree in human services, psychology, social work, or education
