Senior Banking Specialist

Our client a small banking institution on the north shore is looking for three Senior Banking Specialists on a direct hire basis to work out of a branch in North Reading, MA. These openings would be 40 hour a week in location positions that they are looking to fill in the next 1-2 weeks. Some Saturdays may be required from 9am-1pm.

The Senior Banking Specialists are expected to deliver exceptional customer service, process financial transactions, and recommend appropriate financial solutions to the client base. The roles combine daily branch operations and consultative sales with leadership responsibilities, including keyholder authority (opening/closing the branch) and mentoring branch staff.

Responsibilities Include:

• Transaction Processing: Accurately process deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, and ATM/night deposit balancing.
• Account Maintenance: Open new accounts, assist with closing accounts, update customer information, and resolve complex account issues.
• Operational Authority: Serve as a keyholder authorized to open/close the branch and sign cashier’s checks.
• Security & Compliance: Adhere strictly to retail security, cash-handling limits, audit procedures, and federal/state banking regulations.

Sales & Relationship Building:

• Consultative Selling: Identify customer needs to suggest appropriate products, meet personal sales goals, and track performance metrics.
• Strategic Referrals: Proactively refer customers to internal partners in lending, cash management, and wealth management.
• Digital Advocacy: Educate and assist customers in adopting digital banking channels (online, mobile, and video banking).

Leadership & Community:

• Staff Mentorship: Assist in training, coaching, and developing junior branch staff.
• Community Engagement: Participate in local volunteering and community events representing the bank.
• Administrative Support: Respond to inquiries by the close of business, maintain a Notary Public certification, and assist with loan closings.

Job Requirements:

• Three plus years of experience in a financial services or banking environment.
• Strong cash-handling and mathematical skills.
• Proven consultative sales and relationship-building abilities.
• Excellent multitasking and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Windows and Apple devices; experience with core banking systems is highly preferred.
• Ability to work all branch operating hours, including Saturday mornings, and attend occasional after-hours training or meetings.
